Citizen Journalism
The rise in the Internet combined ubiquity of digital cameras and recorders has created a new kind of journalism – citizen journalism – whereby anyone at the right place, at the right time, with a cell phone or digital camera, can record a newsworthy event. Citizen journalists are becoming a powerful force in documenting, analyzing and disseminating news.
Central Collection is the technical bridge between Citizen Journalists and news organizations. It is an on-demand web-page that lets citizen journalists easily post and tag their stories, and professional news staff can then review, qualify and the broadcast them.
